Edition of 20.
Showing 12 images from a series based on “The Fallen Tree”
Handmade silk screen calendar made with finest Lascaux Oxide Black on Britannia Silver on 369g Bristolcard.
The five Bharatanatyam Hastas featured in the series are an integral part of Radha Anjali’s dance project “Vṛkṣa - The Tree”, which incorporates the poem The Fallen Tree, by Jahan Saber. The dance project draws from two distinct influences: Hindu mythology, specificially the story of the Samudra Manthana (the churning of the ocean, from which a magical tree emerges), and the contemporary narrative of The Fallen Tree, that explores themes of loss and renewal both on a personal and global scale.
